Electric Avenue

YOUR ESSENTIAL SUMMER READING LIST 2011. RECOMMENDED BOOKS:

“Sophie’s World” by Jostein Gaarder will challenge your mind and leave a remarkable place on your top list for life. This unique classic with more than 30 million copies world-wide is a novel about history of philosophy and all the most important questions in our lives on Earth.

“Norwegian Wood” by Haruki Murakami. Written by my all-time favourite Japanese writer it is an incredible story about love, loss and passion throughout a man’s life. Deeply emotional and moving, it’s an easy to read, but very memorable work that will guide you from page to page non-stop.

“Never Let Me Go” by Kazuo Ishiguro makes an impact - what begins as a story about an ideal place for children’s education and health, ends with a tragedy when it comes to a real world and the secret of several people’s lives. Follow with the film under the same title and grab a tissue.

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” by Truman Capote will lighten up every bookshelf. It’s a classic that could be read all over again! Highly enjoyable, Holly Golightly is admired both by men and women: charming, fashionable, stylish, independent and witty she leaves footnotes wherever she goes.

“Mrs. Dalloway” by Virginia Woolf will be a perfect introduction to British classic literature. The story develops throughout one day with a deeper look into several people’s thoughts and feelings, all connected with a history behind and unknown future ahead.

“The Picture of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde is an ultimate must-read. If you’re planning to make time for just one book this hot season, pick up this one and you’ll never have to regret. Intrigue, dark and mysterious story surrounds young and beautiful Dorian Gray with a secret that must not be reveal, until… Surprising twist in the end will move your thoughts!
