The atmosphere’s really warm and cosy. It’s Sunday noon and I’m having lunch at a The White Lion, just few steps from Covent Garden tube station. I ordered warm chicken salad with fresh veggies and a cup of coffee with milk. Let me tell you what - that’s the best coffee I’ve been served in my life. I’m not even a big coffee lover, but this is amazing! The room gives a feeling of retro, and the bar is all about english pub decorations. Victorian wallpapers and chairs bring an image of late 1800s and it smells like sweet home-made pie in here! There’s Amy Winehouse jazzy music playing in the background and all in all, it feels incredibly welcoming and relaxing. During my 30 minute lunch I’ve heard people speaking several different languages - Spanish, French, Irish, English and American English. Seems like the atmosphere’s really cosmopolitan and I enjoy it very much indeed. The staff is amazing as the kitchen chief and the restaurant owner keep coming back once in a while to make sure the customers are enjoying their meals. If you want a warm, calm place with incredibly cosy and cosmopolitan atmosphere, don’t miss The The White Lion dining room 2d floor above the pub. Besides, if you pick the right table, you get to see street artists out of the window!
